The latest fire detection and alarm equipment has been installed and the centre has a fire certificate. School groups will be required to participate in a fire drill on the first evening.

Accommodation

Two stone buildings have been converted to accommodate parties of up to 64. There are nine bedrooms in total - each with its own en-suite shower and w.c. Both buildings are carpeted throughout, centrally heated and double-glazed. Two rooms in the Stable on the ground floor are suitable for people with limited disabilities.

The dining room is at your disposal throughout your stay for indoor activities or study. There is a boot and clothes drying room, games room and facilities for wet weather.

The Centre

The centre is on a working hill farm, which is over 350 years old, roughly halfway between Leek and Buxton.

With 52 acres of traditionally managed farmland offering over 150 species of flora, uncommon birds, various insects and mammals and some interesting geographical features, there's something for everyone to study.

We are over half a mile from the main road, so your privacy, safety and seclusion will be unspoilt. Each party has sole occupancy of the centre and the daily routine can be tailored to our group's particular needs. Early booking is essential if you wish to use the centre at certain times of the year.

Catering

Full catering is provided to suit your party's requirements and packed lunches are prepared for days out. Special diets are catered for and there is a small souvenir and tuck shop open at the leader's discretion.

The Enviroment

High Ash Farm has been farmed using traditional methods for over 350 years. We have an unimproved hay meadow containing a wide variety of plant life, a wildlife pond, tree plantations and nature trails.
