Personally led guided walks to anyone wanting to explore the Peak District and Derbyshire.

Operating predominantly at the weekends, Grough-Stuff Walks can cater for both individuals and groups. Grough-Stuff Walks aims to guide you on a walk through this fantastic landscape. Walking is by far, the best way to appreciate the Peak District. You will see and experience places other people don't even know exist.

Why "Grough-Stuff"? The Northern Moors of the Peak District are a unique environment. The high moors of The Dark Peak rise to more than 2000 feet, the highest hill being Kinder Scout at 2088ft (636 metres). The tops of these high moors are covered in a thick blanket of "peat". Streams and rivers have carved deep channels through the peat and down to the bedrock. These deep channels are locally known as "Groughs" (pronounced "Gruffs"). Some are more than 20ft deep! It's a bit like an enormous 'maze'! Walking across this landscape is exhausting work. Navigating in a straight line is nigh on impossible and when the mist comes down......many people shout for HEEEELP!! Don't be a casualty, let Grough-Stuff guide you!

Grough-Stuff Walks operate all the year round, so you can experience the Peak District in all its glory in every season.

Walks can be tailored to suit you or your group!

I offer a variety of walks in a variety of places. Walks can be Easy, Moderate or Strenuous, depending on what you want:-

Easy: These routes should pose no problem for any averagely fit person.Typically, low-level valley or river walks, although don't discount there being a hill or two thrown in for good measure. It's always good to get a view! Anything up to 6 miles long.

Moderate: These are ideal walks for people looking for a more challenging route. Some hills will be involved. Usually, between 6 &9 miles long.

Strenuous: These are usually high-level walks with sections which may not be particularly suitable for absolute beginners. The terrain is likely to be difficult underfoot. Usually, over 10 miles long.
