Bakewell & Eyam Community Transport

A comprehensive public transport service using accessible vehicles, enabling individuals who are unable to use ordinary buses and trains to undertake journeys normally taken for granted.

Community transport is part of the mainstream public transport system. It also provides transport for groups who wish to enhance community activities.

DIAL-A-BUS is a door to door service for passengers who may have difficulty using other forms of public transport. We are able to provide volunteer passenger assistants, at no extra cost, where required. Passengers book their journey in advance and are collected from and returned to their homes.

The Car Scheme operates in the Bakewell & Hope Valley areas. The Hope Valley Car Scheme offers a Patient Transport Scheme (PTS) specifically for the hospital and out-patient appointments, and a Community Car scheme like the Bakewell scheme, which caters for any other journey type, e.g. hospital visiting, shopping, visiting friends or attending church.
